Just a little whiny

So – my parents are leaving for about 2 1/2 weeks.  They do it every year to the same wonderful Caribbean island.  And I always whine just a little.  I talk to my mom every day.  And I don’t mean just a quick hello on the phone.  Today I talked to her about my sister, our business, the dinner I was making and the girls goofy sayings.  I’m guessing I talked to her a total of 45 minutes today on the phone combining about 5 phone calls.  And that doesn’t count the time we spent together at lunch :).  Every day I reminded in some way how lucky I am to have this relationship with my mother.  I wouldn’t trade it for anything!  Since they’re leaving tomorrow the girls and I had a lunch date with Nana.  Bridget drilled her about how long she was going to be gone and when exactly she would be coming home.

And, most importantly, what exactly Nana and Pa would be bringing her back.  Aren’t they just the cutest things?

While waiting for Nana just before lunch the girls colored in their rockin’ coloring books from Red Velvet Art while I snapped pics.  There must not be very many parents snappin’ pictures of their kids in this restaurant usually because I got a lot of stares!  Very nice stares, but lots of them 🙂

Although Nana and Pa will be missed while their gone I love that they have a special island they call “home” a couple of weeks each winter.  I will live vicariously through emails and pictures and dream of the sand under my feet and the sun warming me up!
